At AJS Flood Risk Consulting we seek to build sustainability into everything we do - from working with clients to deliver projects in the best way for people and planet, to minimising the environment impact of our own work through the use of green energy and increasing biodiversity in our place of work. We can support clients in delivering biodiversity net gain, carbon accounting and low carbon design, ensuring the efficient use of resources through careful initial design, and working towards net zero as integral parts of every project. We will work with your climate change or sustainability officers to integrate projects into Climate Change Emergency declarations and wider organisational environmental policies and plans.
We are proud to be a member of Sustainability West Midlands (SWM), the sustainability champion for the West Midlands.
SWM’s Vision is to guide the West Midlands to becoming a leader in contributing to the national target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 whilst addressing health inequality and driving inclusive growth.
We have signed up to the West Midlands Net Zero Pledge, a regional drive to become a net zero economy by 2041. Read more about the Net Zero Pledge here.
As a business we currently power our laptops using solar energy backed up by a 100% green electricity tariff and we travel to meetings either via public transport or electric vehicle.
We have assessed our carbon emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) and have achieved our aim to offset twice our remaining emissions, becoming carbon positive in 2024, our third year of operating.
We are delighted to play our part in the UN's Race to Zero campaign by joining other businesses in signing the SME Climate Commitment through the SME Climate Hub.
The SME Climate Hub has a wealth of resources to help SME's in delivering net zero targets.
We are delighted as a small company to deliver on our climate commitments, supported by Play It Green to offset both company and personal carbon emissions through sustainable tree planting schemes. With this collaboration we are now ‘carbon positive’ and hope to inspire other SMEs to empower themselves to take action.
